This Brazilian show depicts a dystopian world where society is segregated into two parts. Those who live inland deal with poverty, hunger, crime whereas those who are offshore live in a well-stocked paradise.
Every person who turns 20 gets a shot at living at the offshore by taking part in a series of tests called “The Process” which isn’t so easy. It’s so tough that only 3% of candidates make it to the end.

This show depicts a Scandinavian view of post-apocalyptic society. As the title suggests the show kicks off with a lot of rain that carries a deadly virus. And the effects of the rain aren’t pleasant. A scientist father rushed his children to an underground bunker to safety and went out for supply. But even after 6 years, he doesn’t come back. So the siblings come out and join a group of young survivors to find some answers.

5. Sacred Games (India)

Based on a book by Vikram Chandra, the show delves into crime, police corruption, and politics. A troubled police officer Sartaj Singh receives a phone call from a crime lord who warns him he has 25 days before something terrible happens. He embarks on a chase around Mumbai in what becomes a dangerous cat-and-mouse game. Can Sartar find out what links his father to the notorious crime lord as he works to save Mumbai from an impending doom? You have two seasons to find out.

6. Kingdom (South Korea)

Kingdom is what you get when you cross the zombie genre with historical period drama. To simply put the show peddles with political drama and gore. The story sets after the Japanese invasion of Korea in the 1590s. It’s rumored that the king is dead but everyone in the palace thinks he is very much alive meanwhile people in a small town are struck down by a disease only to rise as zombies. It’s up to the crown prince to figure out what’s going on.

7. Fauda (Israel)

  • Genre: Action, Political Thriller
The Israeli-made Fauda starts a bit slow, but quickly turns into a high-intensity thriller. An elite member of the Israeli defense force had to come out of retirement when his last target whom he supposedly killed, reappears. He goes undercover to get him again but the plan goes south that sets off a chaotic and thrilling chain of events. The show also depicts an ongoing conflict between Jews and Palestinians which gives it new heights.

8. Samurai Gourmet (Japan)

Samurai Gourmet is probably something that you have never seen before. Retired salesman Takeshi Kasumi has way too much time in his hands, to remedy this he decides to eat something new every day, exploring all the culinary offerings that Tokyo has.
But what’s so Samurai about it? Well when Kasumi finds a new experience little intimidating his Samurai alter ego pops up, a wandering Samurai who maneuvers through tricky situations. It’s a soft and joyous food show without any drama and complicated plotlines, which will certainly make you hungry.

9. Elite (Spain)

  • Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller 
Elite is a thrilling Spanish teen drama that revolves around a murder mystery while dealing with a lot of topics like drug use, class discrimination, homophobia, and sexuality. A public school collapses and the construction company responsible pays for 3 working-class teens to enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain.
The clash between them and the wealthy students leads to a murder. It gets twisted real fast. Though Elite is like Gossip Girl in many ways but also it has a thrilling murderous vibe to it.

10. Tabula Rasa (Belgium)

  • Language: Flemish
  • Genre: Drama, Suspense, Psychological Thriller
This Belgian show is one of the best psychological thrillers on TV. Tabula Rasa is about an amnesiac woman Mie, who is the key witness in a child disappearance case and she is locked up in a secure psychiatric hospital. She can’t be released from the hospital until the missing child is found.
To solve the puzzle, Mie has to reconstruct her lost memories and find her way back through the dark maze of her past. The more she remembers, the more she doubts herself and the people around her.
