After the success of Ingress, Pokémon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, Niantic has set it eyes on new Augmented Reality game called Catan: World Explorers
Catan: World Explorers will be the next fourth game in agumented reality titles of Niantic. As per Niantic, it will be an upcoming massively multiplayer augmented reality game that transforms the entire Earth into one giant game of CATAN. Harvest, trade, and build in the real world as cities and landmarks transform into settlements where you can collect resources, construct buildings, and score points for your Faction!

Players will be exploring their neighborhood to collect the classic CATAN resources: Lumber, Brick, Wool, Grain, and Ore. Some resources will be abundant in some regions, while other players have to trade for. Players will befriend and bargain with in-game Catanians and complete quests as you explore. Along with that players will have resources to craft. Building Cards that can be used to transform humble settlements into booming metropolises.

Team up with old friends (and make new ones) as players will have to strategically collect resources, expand settlements, and race for Victory Points. As players earn Victory Points, it will contribute to their Faction’s Global Score and personal Local Game.

Niantic’s website for the game is now live, and you can pre-register there to play at launch. It’ll debut in beta form “very soon”, though there’s no fixed release date yet.
