NameHero Review 2020: Time for LiteSpeed Hosting

Hello Visitor! If you have come to this page searching for your next Web Hosting, then my pal you are in the right place. Today I will be reviewing a Web Host which is considerably new in the market compared to its competitors, yet total bang for your bucks with great features and one of the best customer support services.
Now before I start, let me give you the background of my website before moving to NameHero Review. And if you want to skip the background details and go straight to NameHero Review, then click here. I started this website in April 2020, along with my wife. Since it included a development period, I didn’t opt for any high end Hosting and went for HostGator rather than going for Bluehost or any other Hosting. Solely due to their exceptional customer support.
HostGator is suitable for any small website due to the discount and prices they offer. But over time, once your website starts growing, you can definitely look for some better Hosting, otherwise your website may start, hitting performance bottleneck. So we started looking for a different host once the development was 80% completed, and my website started to have 500+ pages.
HostGator Hosting Plans
I had opted for the Starter Plan that cost me around INR 2254 with a discount for a year that roughly translates to 30 USD that was very cheap but best for any sort of live development.
Now, after the development was almost over, what we were looking for was a host that not only provides the latest hardware with great pricing offer and uptimes but also excellent customer support services. After researching through various reviews, Hosting websites, youtube videos, and forums, we shortlisted to strictly three names, Siteground, A2 Hosting, and NameHero. At that time, Siteground had the highest number of reviews due to a large number of web hostings on their servers but, most of their customer base was already leaving as Siteground was increasing prices.
Siteground WebHosting Plans
SiteGround Hosting Plans
So leaving Siteground out of our list, we had A2 Hosting, and NameHero left. A2 had the right set of features with Any Time Money Back Guarantee that was lucrative deal as you have nothing to lose if you don’t like their hosting any time of your subscription period, and they will refund your remaining credits. They also provide NVMe storage along with SSD that is very fast than SSD storages as they utilize PCIe Express slot for higher bandwidth than traditional SSD using the SATA interface.

A2 WebHosting Plans Turbo Boost
A2 Hosting Plan Turbo Boost
Overall we liked what A2 Hosting has to offer through Drive and Turbo Boost plans. It was a difficult choice but, we shortlisted the Turbo Boost Plan from A2 Hosting after reading about LiteSpeed features in detail. Then checked out the NameHero Plus plan, we found A2 Hosting to be on the higher side for cost. Not only that but, we also found some features that were not available on A2 Hosting and vice versa. After comparing both Turbo Boost and Plus plan completely we decided to go with NameHero Plus Plan. NameHero has better prices, features, and good uptimes. It also had reviews from many customers and social networking platforms.
Now before you get bored of our Server choosing story lets begin with the NameHero Review. 🙂
NameHero Review 2020: Time for LiteSpeed Hosting

NameHero has really good uptimes. As long we have been using NameHero we haven’t even one time seen any downtime on our node which is really great. If situaton changes I will update this section with new status. You can monitor NameHero uptime from here. It shows the status of all the nodes of NameHero.

You can check out the below video where fellow Youtuber Darrel tried to compare best wordpress hosting in which he mentions about the uptime after using several web hosts.

Customer Support

namehero support
NameHero provides 24/7/365 Premium Support via Phone, Live Chat, and Ticket System (Email). Their customer support is really nice and straightforward and if you ever have any problem and want to chat with the support team, they will reply within 5 min. During my website migration, Maria from the Support team helped to migrate my website within 1 hour including the testing and verification without any issues.
Everyone from the NameHero Support Team is very helpful and they provide quick resolution for every issue that you might have. There has been time when I had to raise multiple tickets for different setup, all of the tickets got resolved within a few minutes. I am impressed by their support.

Blog and Knowledge base

Nowadays, every Hosting company offers their blog and knowledgebase but, only few of them turns to be useful. Unlike them, NameHero provides a well-documented knowledge base and blog that is very useful. There have been many occasions, on which I didn’t even bother to google what I was looking for, instead, I went to the blog for the solution. This is how useful it is.
Not only that they also have their own channel on Youtube where Ryan himself explain do’s and dont’s along with setup tutorial on various issues and features related to hosting. Above one is a short introductory video by Ryan on NameHero. Feel free to check them out.

For measuring my website performance I used my Home Page which was 2.2 MB compressed and with 100 request on Hostgator. You can find the performance score from PageSpeed Insights.
This was taken in Hostgator where TTFB was around 0.6ms with WP-Rocket taking care of cache along with Asset Cleaner to unload unused css and js files.
If you look into the details of my website on GTMetrix or PageSpeed you will find it is quite heavy with lots of DOM objects. Overall it did affect the scores out of the box that was quite impressive. It is a good boost where I need to make more optimization as per the LiteSpeed Cache. In the real world test, you will feel the difference easily. Once I will be done optimizing these I will update the new scores as well. If you are wondering about the GTMetrix score below is the one after the LiteSpeed Server migration.
LS Cache with QUIC integrated
Sadly I missed taking the HostGator GTMetrix Score to compare but I remember it used to be 5+ to 12+ sec to fully load with 2.2 MB compressed page size and around 100 requests. After moving to NameHero you can see the requests has been drastically reduced with increased load time and smaller page size. This was also thanks to integration with QUIC Cloud that is available for free forevryone. But the catch is there is limitation with free account tier and you might have to buy credits. But thanks to NameHero using Enterprose LiteSpeed WebServer you will get Highest tier for free.

This is what QUIC Cloud Dashboard looks like.

LS Cache Panel

I will be writing up a detailed level article on the LS Cache Plugin integrated with QUIC Cloud soon. As it has lots of details it won’t be possible to cover here in detail.

Client Area UI

Once you sign up with NameHero, they will provide you with the Client Area on their website that provides, easy navigation to your cPanel, Website, Domain, and much more. The UI is simple and straight forward. Users will get used to it very quickly. You can check this video by NameHero CEO Ryan who walkthrough the Client Area in detail.

cPanel UI

cPanel is very much the same except for the additional features they provide. At NameHero, JetBackup is used for taking all types of backups, restoration and snapshots at database, email, file and folder level. It is very easy to use. Ryan has also made a video about taking backup and restoring in their youtube channel.
Metric and Security
In the Metric section they have something called Resource Usage. As the name suggest it is for tracking your resource usage over the time and letting you know if you are hitting performance bottlenecks in your currect plans. Also they are very transparent about their resource usage and details out the available resource for each of their client.
  • CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R)
  • CPUs: Allocated per package
  • Disk Space: Unlimited
  • Bandwidth: Unlimited
  • Physical Memory: Allocated per package
  • Concurrent Connections: 25
  • Number of Processes: 100
  • I/O Limit: 8MB/s
  • I/O operations per second: 1024
  • Inodes: Allocated per package
They also provide Hotlink Protection, Leech Protection, Full SSH Access (ticket need to be raised for the access), SSL/TLS Certificate, ModSecurity, Two Factor Authentication for extra layer of protection and Immunify 360. Immunify 360 being a feature of CloudLinux OS that acts as a malware scanner. You can read more about it here.
And not to forget option for Cloudflare Integration, Softaculous for 1 click installation and LiteSpeed Web Cache Manager. Rest all the features I found are very similar to other host cPanel.

NameHero’s Web Hosting plans starts from $8.95 and goes upto $29.95. But with recent going discount of 52% the plan starts from $4.30 to $14.38. I have purchased the Plus plan for for three years that costed me around $200 along with Privacy Protection.
NameHero WebHosting Plans

Name Hero is very versatile Website Hosting that provides Cloud Hosting at an affordable prices and good quality service. On top of that they provide LiteSpeed Server that is like cherry on the top. When I first hear about LiteSpeed, I always wanted to try it out. It is definitely for all shared hosting to have. Name Hero Doesn’t provide any trial but they provide 30 days money back guarantee whoch should good for most of the website owners to try out.
Once I migrated to NameHero I also noticed a lots of my plugin became redundant and it made me happy to remove them and make wordpress much litgher. Like with NameHero’s JetBackup I no longer need Updraft or worry about taking backup as everything is already scheduled. I no longer needed separate image optimization plugins.
Earlier I had used Smush, EWWW, ShortPixel, Optimole, Tinified and the best image optimization hands down being Flying Images. With QUIC Cloud integration with LS Cache all my images are WebP optimizied on the fly which ultimately helped to reduce my page sizes and I somewhat found it faster than Flying Images that was created by Gijo himself.
Similarly, there were other plugins that no longer needed anymore and I was glad that also helped me to optimize my Autoload Table. from 1.2mb to 200kb . I will also write about how to safely optimize your Autoload table soon.
There are also many other Web Hosts providing LiteSpeed Cloud Hosting. You can feel free to check them out. Personally I feel NameHero is on the top now. But since they are still small thats why you may not hear about them that much. Unlike other web hosting companies, they focus more on customer satisfaction.
Overall with the discount its a great deal not only for people who looking for good shared hosting with LiteSpeed Server but also for those who are looking start their own website. With all the listed features and good support it is a really good deal. And since NameHero focuses solely on 10/10 Customer Service And Satisfaction, you wont regret after buying the service.
In my experience and after using NameHero I am quite satisfied with the performance, uptime and excellent customer support at a reasonable price which ultimately meets our requirement for our new Web Hosting.
